This morning we visited Streator Dairy Queen and spent time with Owner, Mrs. Lily Urbance. Throughout high school and college Lily worked, supervised, and managed at the Streator DQ. Upon finishing college, she followed her passion and purchased the Streator location. She discussed with our group the process of purchasing a franchise and many business aspects of operating. She shared how she plans and prepares for a new season and how she tracks and compares sales from previous years. Lily also had a lot of great advice on managing employees and on customer service. She even let all of us pour our own ice cream cone; although many still need some training. Thanks so much Lily and Streator DQ!
