Former Owner & President of ALM, Mr. Doug Grunnet was our guest speaker this morning. Doug explained how early job and career opportunities ultimately led him and a partner into creating their original auto lifting product lines right here in Streator. He also shared how this idea evolved into ALM, and grew into the world leader they are today. Doug’s real message to our kids though was about entrepreneurship. He discussed the differences between jobs, careers, and entrepreneurship. He also had great advice and crucial steps in being a good entrepreneur. The word “opportunites” was used a lot. Opportunities to make yourself known to others, but also opportunities to progress and grow. Doug also stressed the importance of branding, innovation, job creation, and competition.
