We would like to thank Derek Barichello for coming in and speaking with us yesterday. Derek is currently the News Editor for Shaw Local News Network, and he had a lot of valuable information for our group. In addition to advertisements, he shared advice on how businesses can utilize press/news releases to share important information. He discussed the importance of audience engagement and gave great examples of finding out how your audience consumes their media. Derek also discussed how Shaw has adapted in getting the news distributed by having options of print, an e-edition, and also a Facebook page. Thank you Derek for coming in and sharing!
