Our last site visit today and it was a great one. We visited Owens Illinois, and spent our time with Plant Mgr. Tom Nagle and his leadership team. With such a history in our town, it was neat to witness the production of glass bottles and flow of raw materials. Tom and his team first greeted us and shared their roles within Owens. Each and every one of them shared life lessons on lifelong learning, handling adversity, asking questions, setting goals, and much more. Their talk really reinforced the goals of this program and discussions we have had with others this year. OI-Streator also shared the opportunities available within this global company, discussed the history and production here in Streator, and gave us a grand tour.
